How to Make Cold Brew Tea in 5 Easy Steps — The Antrilea Way
Share
Cold brew tea is simple, calm, and forgiving. No boiling water, no timer to watch — just tea, water, and time. You leave it in the fridge, and hours later, you have something clean, smooth, and quietly energizing.
At Antrilea, our teas come from ancient trees grown high in the mountains of Yunnan. They’re pure, additive-free, and full of character. Cold brewing lets that natural sweetness shine through — here’s how to do it right.
Step 1 — Jar + Tea
Grab a clean glass jar or bottle. Add about one teaspoon (2–3 grams) of loose-leaf tea for every 8 oz (240 ml) of water. If you’re using our Ancient Tree Raw Pu-erh, the large, twisted leaves will start to open slowly even in cold water — it’s quietly beautiful to watch.
Step 2 — Add the leaves
Just drop the tea in. No need for a filter. Let the leaves float freely — that’s how they release flavor slowly and evenly. Making tea this way feels less like a recipe and more like taking a pause.

Step 3 — Add cold, filtered water
Fill the jar with cold, filtered water (or bottled spring water if your tap water tastes off). Good water makes a big difference — it keeps the taste round and gentle instead of bitter.

Step 4 — Tighten the lid
Seal the jar and give it a gentle shake so all the leaves are wet. Then let it rest in the fridge. That’s it — no fuss, no watching the clock.

Step 5 — Chill 6–8 hours, then enjoy
After six to eight hours, or overnight, strain the leaves. What you’ll get is tea with a golden-amber color and a soft, layered taste — smooth and slightly sweet, with notes of honey or wood, depending on the tea. Cold-brewed Pu-erh doesn’t shout. It’s calm, deep, and quietly grounding — something you’ll keep reaching for without realizing it.
A few tips
- Stronger: add more tea or steep longer (up to 10–12 hours).
- Lighter: use fewer leaves or chill for 4–6 hours.
- Make-ahead: keeps well in the fridge for about two days.
- Gentler caffeine: naturally lower than hot-brewed tea.
When to enjoy it
Take it to work as your “second cup.” Keep a jar in the fridge for easy refills through the day. It pairs beautifully with fruit, bread, or just a quiet moment between tasks. Cold-brew Pu-erh isn’t just a drink — it’s a small daily reset.
Why Antrilea teas are perfect for cold brew
Our ancient-tree leaves come from high-mountain forests where the air is thin and the soil rich. The long roots draw up minerals that give each cup depth and sweetness. When brewed cold, those qualities unfold slowly — pure and unmasked, just as nature made them.
